INTRODUCTION
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Keith has turned away from StarNet & MEBBSNet, I have asked him if I
could carry on with his great program since I enjoy it and I think
others do too. I am not a expert with programming, This is my first
program that is released to others. Though I just modified an
existing code, I do plan on changing/adding a lot of things. I am
planing on making my own MEBBSNet Doors in "C" soon. I hope you enjoy
this version over 2.4, it has a few revisions/bug fixes. More to come
soon.
INSTALLATION: (THIS WORKS FOR STAR-NET & MEBBSNet BBS ONLY!)

Installation is REAL EASY! If you have set up a door before you should
have no problems. You will have to edit the Hacker.CFG file which
should be copied to MEBBSNet:ConfigFiles/ directory. To have
multi version, just rename this to another name ex. Hacker_2.CFG. A
definition of what each line does is available in the Hacker.CFG file
itself. Just follow these few simple sets and you are on you way.
A. Edit the Hacker.CFG File
1) Your SYSOP name.
2) Your BBS name.
3) If you want a bulletin file 0 or 1. (0 = No | 1 = Yes)
4) The complete path/name for the ASCII version of the bulletin name.
5) The complete path/name for the ANSI version of the bulletin name.
6) How many turns you wish to allow a player to have a day.
7) How many days of protection you wish to allow a player to have.
8) The main path for Hacker.
9) The path were the User files are.
10) The path were the message files are.
11) The path were the phone files are.
12) The path were the help text files are.
B. Edit your menu tree
Option 'H':
minaccess 2
Function Arexx "1"/ "2"/ HACKER/HACKER
end
1 = Drive location
2 = Directory on that drive
The Option H is your choice. It does not matter which letter or number
you decide to use.
C. There is a way to put a TEXT intro to any number you add in the
phonebook, see my examples. IF after playing for a while you may
desire to see an optional text screen when logging on to that board
in the door.
D. Just name that textfile the same as the BBS # that you want it to
be used with and place it in your PHONES directory.

GLOBAL Changes
1) Added Hotkeys to options with only one character.
2) Added MEBBSNet BBS address code, so if you have it, it will work
without having to change any of my code. No longer will work with
StarNet...Only use with MEBBSNet
3) Opening Screen follows new programming regulations under MEBBSNet BBS.
4) The (Y/N) prompt are hotkeyed and are listed as (y/N) or (Y/n) in the
correct state.
5) Tried to fix the Unknown command choices EXCEEDED bug. If you see
this come up again without pressing the return key over 5 times in
a row than let me know how you did it. This is there to determine
a drop carrier status.
6) Expert toggle is now an option in the Dial Directory.
7) OFF is another way to quite the game from the Main Directory.
8) Pressing '?' from the HackOther or SPY option gives a list of users
you can hack.
9) Now you need to rename Hacker12 directory to Hacker3x.
10) Added Money in Bank and Protection left to the "stats" display.
11) Added Expert to user data, so now when you park, it will remember if
you left with expert mode on or off.
12) The INUSE file has been changed, now gives the username and line of
the person currently playing Hacker when someone else wants to play.
13) You now only need one main code file 'Hacker3' and the small
Hacker_x.prx launches the main code for the line you want.
14) Made days of protection given to new users configurable.
15) Changed Code to relate global paths for future programming use and
you vertually don't have to have the same paths as I do, maybe for
multi-hackers games use?
16) Added Version command to the Main Directory, it is mainly for
debuging purposes, so I will know what version you are running.
Plan on using that more in the near future. (undocumented feature)
17) Fixed Spy on users, where there real name was not displayed
correctly. (SysOp's Side Only)
18) Added Color to the Bulletin Hacker Top 15. You no longer need to
put the .TXT or .Gr1 at the end of the bullpath.
19) Some useless code was removed and replaced with different routines.
20) Added more Drive types, Terminals, and Baud rate connections..
LOTTO Changes
1) Changed the amount of money in the Lotto to $10 a ticket instead of
$5.
2) Now you can win more times and more money.
3) Changed colors a little.
4) Maximum Tickets is now determined by how much money you have if
you only have $10 it will say (MAX 1). If you have $1000 it will
say (MAX 99).
5) You can only play LOTTO once per day now.
SYSOP Mode Changes
1) Delete a Player now works, you may choose to delete whomever you
wish, but once you do, there is no way to get it back.
2) Edit a player now works, try it out, kind of cool! You can call up
any person by there alias and edit there stats. Let me know how you
like it.
3) Add a player now works, if you type in a player to edit, and he
doesn't exists, you will be given the option of adding him.
ATM Changes
1) Disconnecting from the atm doesn't have the unneeded smash any key
prompt anymore.
2) Now displays different for expert mode on.
HAA Changes
1) Unneeded smash anykey after now connected to the haa.... is gone.
2) Fix Megabytes now tells how many you can fix with the amount of
money you have.
3) The Gambling Casino now tells how much money you have to gamble with
and fixes some bugs with saying you won x amounts of money twice.
4) Maximum Number of viruses you can afford are displayed while buying
viruses.
DIAL Changes
1) Dumb Term version is now determined by what version of Hacker this
is.
2) When just pressing return after typing "term" it will not say an error
anymore.
FUTURE 3.x Versions:
1) Not happy with the LOTTO, will probably make it so you can pick a
four digit number and the more digits you get right the more you
win.
2) Depends on your ideas, please give me some thoughts.
